Ink on paper, Dimensions variable

Drawings made by a machine based on the Victorian ‘Harmonograph’, which involves two pendulums of variable length, one holding a pen, one holding a piece a paper. The version that made the drawings adds an extra dimension: the paper is pulled through like an ECG machine or ticker-tape; in the end the energy in the system eventually decays to nothing, and the drawing flat-lines. The drawings can therefore be described as a picture of a chord falling into silence.
